BIM – Building Information Modeling

We use BIM methodology in the development of our projects, and when integrated to all engineering disciplines, can provide dynamism, information, control and total vision in the implementation of an intelligent and diligent project. Under this collaborative environment, the projects is constantly updated and is readily available for consultation.

Applying the most
advanced technology,
day to day

Apart from the normal demand contracted in 2D for Basic and Detailed projects, BRASS executes all projects in-house in 3D/BIM, guaranteeing the maximum of the existing technology available at the service of our customers.

Our standard is to work around the clock to improve procedures, flows and methodologies. It is through the use of BIM technology applied for the excellence of deadlines and the quality of services.

Why BIM?

What is the purpose of BIM?

BIM is used to create and manage data during the design, construction and operations process. BIM integrates multidisciplinary data to create detailed digital representations that are managed on an open cloud platform for real-time collaboration. Using BIM offers more visibility, better decision-making, more sustainable options and cost savings in AEC projects.

Why is BIM important?

The mining industry needs to look for smarter and more effective ways to design and build, not only as a way to meet global demand, but to help create smarter and more resilient spaces as well, to benefit the activities of any construction phase that the project is in, such as operation and maintenance.

With BIM, BRASS teams not only work more efficiently, they can also capture the data created during the process to benefit operation and maintenance activities. Therefore, BIM requirements are growing all over the world.  BRASS embraced BIM early in its evolution in order to advance upon its  vast application capabilities and invaluable uses.

What is the methodology of BIM?

BIM supports the creation of intelligent data that can be used throughout the lifecycle of a building or infrastructure project.

Plan

Inform the planning team by combining reality capture and real-world data to generate contextual models of the built and natural environment.

Design

In this phase are the tasks of conceptual design, analysis, detailing and documentation. The pre-construction process begins with using BIM data to inform teams responsible for scheduling and logistics.

Build

In this phase, manufacturing begins, using the BIM specifications. Project construction logistics are shared with contractors and contractors to ensure optimal synchronization and efficiency.

Operate

BIM data is forwarded to the operation and maintenance actions of completed resources. BIM data can be used in the future in renovation or even deconstruction tasks, with cost savings.

BIM Modeling

BIMBIM - Voyager
3D BIM Modeling

It is the virtual prototype of the project. All elements are represented in three dimensions, making it possible to analyze the interference between the elements of the different Project Disciplines, anticipate inconsistencies and seek the best solution for the execution of the project.

BIM 4D modeling

It is where we associate the elaborate model with the work schedule, linking tasks and execution time, generating a visual planning of the progress of the work, allowing the project manager to monitor the physical progress of each stage.

BIM 5D modeling

At this stage, we add information on the cost of the work to the modeled elements, making it possible for the financial manager to monitor different financial scenarios of the project and work, complete or in stages, having an assertive predictability of the expenses involved in the project.

Generative Design

Far beyond the dimensions of BIM, a constant evolution involves a change of mindset (mindset) in the elaboration of the way of thinking and making projects. A process that took us months to implement, is submitted to evolution as soon as it is consolidated, now exposed to the newest technologies and as always.
