In 2012, Minera Escondida Limitada commissioned BRASS to develop detailed engineering, on-site services, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up for the Escondida Concentrate Transport Project. The objective was to replace the existing 9″ diameter concentrate pipeline from the Los Colorados pumping station (elevation of 3,060 m) to Valve Station VS3.5 (elevation 150 m approx.). The project included the construction of new valve and monitoring stations.
Additionally, the ECT Project involved installing a comprehensive instrumentation and control system to include new fiber optic, from Los Colorados to the Coloso site. The system enables the control of the concentrate pipeline from the mentioned locations.
